The client, a leading global alternative asset manager, was looking for a central repository to service their global user population of over 3,000 employees. They wanted to consolidate over 80 terabytes of data residing in several repositories (file shares, SharePoint Online, SharePoint on Premise and iManage) that were located around the globe.
Micro Strategies migrated the client to Alfresco Digital Business Platform. The centralized repository, which is hosted on Microsoft Azure, services employees through the Alfresco interface and Micro Strategies’ Microsoft Office integration. Micro Strategies’ managed services practice supports the Azure infrastructure and the Alfresco application and provides second tier managed service desk services on a 24/7 basis. These services include addressing user issues escalated from the client’s service desk and ensuring the Azure instances are always on supported versions of the operating system as well as Alfresco software versions.
The workflow capabilities of the solution allow the client to track documents and deals through approval life cycles. Employees have a common set of user touch points and the ability to easily collaborate with internal and external parties. Using activity reports that Micro Strategies’ managed services practice provides to them, the client has complete visibility on issues concerning their users and the infrastructure.
