Anthony L. Bongiovanni | President
Anthony L. Bongiovanni is President of Micro Strategies, Inc., one of the most innovative technology solution providers on the east coast. Anthony provides the strategic direction for the firm, which he founded in 1983. He also manages the sales, marketing, and business development groups and utilizes his in-depth experience with business operations and database software and e-Commerce systems. He is a Microsoft Certified Product Specialist, and is also certified by IBM as an e-Business Solutions Designer. In addition, Anthony serves as a Trustee for the Board of Directors of the St. Clare’s Foundation in Northern New Jersey.
Prior to starting Micro Strategies Inc., Anthony was a Project Engineer at Exxon Research & Engineering, where he designed off-site facilities for refineries and developed computer simulations for refinery operations.
Anthony’s interest in engineering and technology dates back to an early age, when he first discovered how much he enjoyed taking things apart and, better still, putting them back together again! A New Jersey native, Anthony received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. When he is not in the driver’s seat at Micro Strategies, Anthony enjoys boating, and being on the pit crew for drag racing events.
James A. Veraldi | Executive Vice President
James A. Veraldi is Executive Vice President of Micro Strategies and has general management responsibilities for the company, as well as guiding the Micro Strategies’ Business Solutions practice. Jim started with Micro Strategies in 1990, and has acquired considerable expertise in legal operations and applications, having developed a substantial law firm and corporate legal client base. Jim is a council member of the Ingram Micro VentureTech Network and past President of the VTN Big Apple Chapter. He is a member of the Microsoft WPC Partner Executive Board since 2005. Jim is active in the local community as a member of the Saint Hubert’s Finance Committee, past President Denville Chamber of Commerce, volunteer at Saint Peter’s Village, and a coach of youth hockey.
Prior to joining Micro Strategies, Jim was with the Strategic Planning Group of UNISYS Corporation, and began his career as a Project Engineer with Exxon Research & Engineering.
Jim was born in Michigan, and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He has also earned numerous technical certifications.
Jim is married and has four children, and loves golf and ice hockey.
Scott D. Smith | Senior Vice President
Scott’s day to day responsibilities include directing the daily activities of the engineering staff, maintaining Micro Strategies’ diverse skill set in areas of network system infrastructure, servers and backup systems. Scott's diverse experience keeps him vitally involved in Micro Strategies' security practice and storage systems, and he is responsible for new technology assessment, pre-sales support and our hardware implementation teams. As a credit to Scott's hard work and dedication, he also finds time to oversee all major network server and network infrastructure designs and implementations.
Scott received a certificate in Electronics and Computer Technology, and he has received numerous industry certifications from IBM, Cisco, Tivoli, Hewlett Packard, Citrix and Novell.
Scott started his career at Micro Strategies and has worked his way up to this position.
David P. Gaines | Vice President
David P. Gaines joined Micro Strategies in 1994, and is Vice President of the Security and Compliance Group. Over the years, David has helped clients improve their business processes and integrate computerized applications into those business processes. He is now responsible for working with clients to help achieve compliance in regulatory matters, and to ensure acceptable levels of IT compliance, including FRCP (Federal Rules for Civil Procedures), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 (GLBA), National Association Of Securities Dealers (NASD) regulations, and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. David has attained the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) credential, which is an industry accepted measure of competence in the IT security field, as well as a globally recognized standard of achievement. Successful completion of this rigorous certification program attests that the individual has satisfied the established standard of security knowledge, experience and ethical behavior.
Prior to joining Micro Strategies, David was with the Indus Group, where he sold and supported their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. He has experience designing and marketing electronic document management systems as Executive Vice President at Scangraphics; extensive nuclear and utility knowledge as President of Siemens Energy and Automation/UTL; and has managed training, quality assurance, engineering and maintenance organizations at GPU Corporation.
David received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and his Masters in Business Administration with Honors from Monmouth University. In addition to the CISSP, David has achieved a Microsoft MCSE certification, a Microsoft Certified Product Trainer certification, an IBM Certified Specialist and AIX Engineer certification; and a Certified Technical Trainer certification from Chauncey Group International.
David can often be found sailing, bike riding, going to the gym, and gardening in his spare time.
Kelly A. O'Neill | Vice President
Micro Strategies is proud to be built upon the loyalty and industry expertise of its employees, and Kelly O’Neill is a prime example, having been with the company since 1993. As Vice President of Finance, Kelly’s responsibilities include oversight of all the financial aspects that make a company run smoothly – managing the staff that handles financial reporting, financial analysis, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
In addition, Kelly handles the many day-to-day office responsibilities of a growing company. Prior to working at Micro Strategies, Kelly honed these skills while working in the Accounting field.
In 1996, Kelly received the Orloff Award, given by Micro Strategies annually to the employee who has demonstrated the most extraordinary perseverance, creativity and tenacity in attaining a goal.
Dan Lucky | Vice President
Dan Lucky joined Micro Strategies in July 2000 and as Vice President of Business Information Management and Protection he provides client focused solutions for the management, archival, retrieval and preservation of client information to meet FRCP litigation, regulatory compliance, and overall business requirements.
In prior roles with Micro Strategies Dan has been responsible for the IBM TotalStorage solutions of three Fortune 100 clients, implemented the first IBM TotalStorage Solution Center in the New York Metropolitan area, launched Micro Strategies’ IBM Learning Services Center, and architected a Data Replication Server solution that included custom-designed sales and marketing programs. Dan has managed teams of consultants working on, among other substantial projects, a Windows 2000 migration and implementation plan for a client with 200 locations in 150 different countries, and an airport renewal project that utilized Windows NT as the OS platform for 20,000 clients and 1,100 servers.
Prior to joining Micro Strategies Dan worked at Hewlett-Packard in Atlanta as Solution Architect/Senior Consultant reporting to the North American Business Manager, Microsoft Services Operations. Dan also worked at Arrowhead Industries, Advanced Modular Solutions, and at Digital Equipment Corporation as the World Wide Business Development Manager for Novell Systems and Intel Super Servers. Over the years, Dan has served three times as a COMDEX Conference Chairman focusing on LAN Solutions.
Dan began his technology career working for Boeing Vertol as a Telemetry Engineer capturing flight test data. Subsequently, Dan worked on the Apollo program at Goddard Space Flight Center for NASA, and received numerous certificates acknowledging his contributions to the Project Apollo Missions.
Dan received an Associate Electrical Engineering Technology degree from Pennsylvania State University. He holds many professional certifications from Microsoft, McData, and IBM, and is a Certified Instructor for IBM’s TotalStorage classes.
In 2003, Dan received Micro Strategies’ annual Orloff Award for demonstrating “extraordinary perseverance, creativity and tenacity in attaining a goal.”
Dan enjoys “off shore saltwater fishing” and spending time at his office in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
