Infrastructure Solutions

Platform Services

The cornerstones of Micro Strategies Information Technology Infrastructure services are real-world experience and expertise in architectural design, provisioning and support for complex storage, server and collaboration technology.

Our skills cover enterprise-class and industry-standard platforms. We maintain elite partner relationships with IBM and Microsoft. Together, these companies routinely spend billions of dollars in research and development each year. That puts Micro Strategies in an ideal position to present the latest in information technology innovation to our clients.

Here's a snapshot of our Platform solutions:

Storage

Micro Strategies represents the entire line of IBM System Storage technologyfrom tape libraries to storage area networks (SANs) to network-attached storage (NAS) options. We help evolve storage architectures to meet the needs of virtualized servers. We implement high-availability storage solutions made possible through the IBM XIV Storage System, grid-class technology designed to help balance data loads across a data center. Our storage team was one of the earliest qualified to implement and support IBM Storwize V7000. Storwize V7000 delivers enterprise-class storage efficiency in a compact, modular design optimized for midrange solutions.

Servers

Micro Strategies is certified in the full range of IBM's innovative server technologies and platforms. This includes IBM Power Systems (System i and System p) which enable a new class of data center economics - as well as IBM System x servers built on high-powered Intel Xeon processors or dual-core or quad-core AMD Opteron chips and the full line of Blade technologies.

The advantages of investing in IBM server platforms include:
  • Flexibility: The IBM Power platform supports a variety of deployment footprints for AIX [UNIX], IBM i and Linux operating system applications. Both IBM Power and the industry-standard server line come in Blade formats, an increasingly important consideration for companies seeking to address data center density.
  • Scale: Multi-threading, multi-partitioning, superior resource management and flexible per-core licensing are among the factors that make IBM platforms a superior option for high-performance workloads for applications such as online transaction processing or business intelligence.

Unified Communications

Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) technologies are enabling next-generation platforms for business collaboration. Micro Strategies' unified communications solutions are built with the latest technologies and server platforms from Microsoft.

Our offerings include:
  • The Microsoft Exchange enterprise messaging server, which now includes self-service features demonstrated to help reduce operational costs substantially.
  • The latest Microsoft capabilities combine e-mail, VoIP, desktop sharing features, file transfer, instant messaging, and support for "presence," which lets your employees see when someone is available to talk, chat or otherwise communicate.

Microsoft SharePoint, which enables teams to share information and manage documents edited by more than one person. SharePoint supports development of extranet applications, such as Web and e-commerce sites; corporate intranets; and business intelligence solutions. It also offers a content management application that can be closely integrated with Microsoft Office.
