Technology Roundtable Events –
Security, Phishing, Whaling and more…
Micro Strategies hosted two events in tandem with our partners IBM, Microsoft and Citrix in Philadelphia and New York on email security and internet risks. A Manager of Systems Security at an International law firm gave a fascinating presentation on how Boards of Directors and Executives at Law Firms are targeted (mostly by efforts from hackers in other countries) for scams dubbed phishing, shark phishing and whaling. At the NY event, an industry attorney, gave a riveting presentation on how lawyers and their attorney trust accounts are being targeted for financial scams. Embedded malware and elaborate fraudulent email and websites where presented as ways these hackers try to infiltrate and steal intellectual property.
Animated discussions at both events ensued with attendees sharing their own security concerns and with Microsoft®, IBM® and Micro Strategies discussing new ways to keep data and company assets protected. For more information on how to keep your company secure check out

Data, Data Everywhere!
The nature of data is changing, moving out of the data center and into the Cloud. What do you do with all that data and can you be sure it is safe and secure? Today's data is new and unstructured. It comes from a variety of sources such as tweets, blogs, cameras and sensors. It has a critical customer story to tell about current and future issues and buying patterns. However, that data must be captured and analyzed quickly and efficiently in order to serve an ever-changing marketplace.
At Micro Strategies we understand the need for Business Analytics and Intelligence and are here to help you understand and analyze the customer data you already have. Look for live events in the early part of next year where we will take a deeper dive into smart analytics.

Power Built For The Data Center
The IBM BNT RackSwitch™ G8052 is an Ethernet switch specifically designed for the data center, providing a virtual, cool and easy network solution. When selecting the IBM BNT switches for a recently completed project, removing complexity and simplifying management were key decision makers. The project required high-bandwidth/low-latency switching that was easy to configure and maintain so the IBM BNT Rack Switch G8052 was the logical choice. Multiple G8052 switches where used to connect several IBM IDataplex clusters to a cloud infrastructure. This combination has proven to be a perfect fit for an upcoming internet music start-up company.
